Lauren McKenzie, LCMHCA Therapist

Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associated in North Carolina.  She received her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University and completed her clinical internship with New Leaf Behavioral Health.  Lauren believes that the foundation of a good counseling relationship is based upon listening intently to the story of the client sitting in front of her and walking alongside them in life to assist them in reaching their various therapeutic and life goals. She feels it is important to focus on and build upon the strengths of those that she works with and to take a positive and hopeful approach to therapy.  Lauren employs evidence based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy to assist clients in understanding their thoughts, emotions, and responses more fully so that they might find healing and new delight in life.
