Shiquita Hyman, LPA, LCMHCA Therapist

Shiquita is both a Licensed Psychological Associate and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with over 7 years experience in the mental health field.  Her therapeutic approach to counseling is primarily Cognitive-Behavioral, asserting that one’s thoughts and feelings directly affect and mediate their behaviors. She is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychoeducation, skills training, and behavior therapy techniques. During the therapeutic process, Shiquita works together with her clients to identify and make progress toward resolving any issues that are interfering with their ability to live the life they want for themselves.  She feels that work both in and out of the counseling session is important for making lasting change. Shiquita uses homework assignments, exercises, writing in journals, and art projects to help those she works with move through the counseling process.
