Therapist Testimonials
We value each of the therapists that we work with at New Leaf and are honored that many have shared comments for inclusion in this section.
I am pleased to have this opportunity to share my outstanding experience with New Leaf Behavioral Health. Working at NLBH will provide you with a professional setting that is flexible, supported, engaging, and fulfilling. Having always worked full-time while employed in other clinical settings, changing family dynamics prompted me to search for a more flexible yet still stimulating schedule. NLBH was the perfect answer not only for the opportunity to arrange my own calendar, but to remain connected to and positive about the work to which I was dedicated.
Further, the clinical support was outstanding. While you are able to practice independently and your expertise is recognized, should you need assistance, it is nearly immediate and wise. Whether I had a technical question or clinical query, working with all the staff at NLBH was nothing short of positive and affirming. NLBH cares about its team and that will be apparent with all of your interactions. Working at NLBH will give you all of this, and also the opportunity to make a difference in your community, to support a mission that values and strives for competent mental health care for everyone, and for you to grow professionally. For 6 years NLBH was one of my professional homes, and it is one that still enhances my professional career today.

Working as an outpatient therapist at New Leaf Behavioral Health was an exceptional experience. I found the office staff to be friendly and efficient. The executive and clinical directors were both accessible and eager to assist with clinical questions. When I needed input regarding a client, I always found the clinical feedback to be high quality. New Leaf is an organization that strives to not only serve their community, but also become sincerely invested in it.
Lori Caref, LCSW | Community-based Therapist, 2008-2012
For me, New Leaf has been an agency of stability, low stress and high professional standards that maintains a fun and enjoyable environment . I’m encouraged to be creative in my work and I’ve been clinically supported by my supervisors and the administrative staff. I appreciate the close working relationship I have with my colleagues and feel accepted and respected form my work and my opinions. In contrast to some of the other community mental health agencies I’ve worked with, I haven’t had to worry about not having enough referrals or whether I will get paid for my services! In working here, I’m constantly reminded of why I became a therapist — so that I can make a small difference in the lives of others — and New Leaf provides the environment to make that happen.
Bonnie Fitts, LPC | Community-based & Office Therapist, 2010-2016
My time working with New Leaf Behavioral Health was and continues to be a very rewarding experience. It is refreshing to find a company that cares as much about its employees and clients as New Leaf Behavioral Health. The supervisors are very knowledgeable, caring, responsive and encouraging. As a new professional, I was afforded a wealth of opportunities and guidance in exploring and developing my therapeutic foundation with a variety of clientele. I look forward to collaborating with New Leaf in the future.

Working at New Leaf is personally and professionally rewarding. The office staff are on top of everything, making sure clients are authorized and care is not interrupted. Clinical staff are knowledgeable and available anytime I need a consult. The office atmosphere is not only professional, but warm, friendly, and inviting, something I have found missing from many other agencies.

It is with great pleasure that I share my exceptional experience working as a Licensed Professional Counselor with the staff and clients at New Leaf Behavioral Health. As a full time professional with another organization, I was looking for a part-time therapeutic setting to broaden my clinical skills while applying Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy counseling techniques with children, adults, and families. New Leaf Behavioral Health provided a professional and personally rewarding experience to achieve my goal. From the onset of my experience, I was welcomed warmly and provided guidance from the Executive Director, Clinical Director, fellow therapists and support staff. The offices are comfortable, attractive and inviting for each client we serve. I was afforded caring and knowledgeable direction from my supervisor in my work to meet the needs of my clients. In addition, feedback from my clients affirmed their outstanding care from the staff. Throughout my experience, the staff at New Leaf Behavioral Health worked diligently to provide the finest care possible to the community. I’m confident that clients who access therapy services with New Leaf Behavioral Health will not only benefit from, but also enjoy, the overall experience. Clients will gain a new perspective and their lives will change for the better as a result of the services provided by New Leaf Behavioral Health. I endorse the fine work of the professionals at this practice and look forward to ongoing collaboration with my friends and colleagues at New Leaf Behavioral Health.

Working as a community-based therapist is something I continuously feel grateful for, as I believe the professional experiences I gained were extremely rewarding. Building my caseload was very quick, and the families I worked with were all invested in their treatment, making my job that much easier. Office staff were always available and very knowledgeable, and supported me throughout the process of learning the administrative aspects of the work. The clinical staff was also available to me whenever I needed consultation over a difficult case, assisting me in making clinically sound decisions and growing as a practitioner. I highly recommend working with the NLBH team.
Leyla Nouri, LPA | Community-Based Therapist, 2016 – 2017
I feel very grateful to have begun my LPCA process at New Leaf Behavioral Health. I enjoyed the schedule of having both evening and morning hours. The office atmosphere was professional and welcoming. Augie (the dog) is a great addition to the friendly staff and directors! The administrative processes were well run and smooth, and Admin and Directors were ready and available to answer any questions I had. The directors, especially, were very flexible with me throughout my maternity leave. I definitely felt well supported at NLBH!
Supervision was great as well. I was encouraged to provide therapy to new-types of Clients and was supported along the way. I appreciated all of the clinical expertise and resources that were provided to me. New Leaf Behavioral Health is a place where you can grow as a professional, and as a counselor. I highly recommend working here.
